[Announcement] “The Future of Society and Education in the Age of AI — Insights from a Conversation with AI Yoshimi-kun”

For the online symposium on Wednesday, June 17, we are pleased to welcome Professor Toshiya Yoshimi of the Faculty of Tourism and Community Development at Kokugakuin University (Professor Emeritus at the University of Tokyo).

Over the past half-century, Mr. Yoshimi has written 40 books as a sole author, 60 as a co-author, and600 academic papers, newspaper articles, and other works—all of which have been fed into a generative AI system called “AI Yoshimi-kun”—in his book *Dialogue with the Self: A Sociologist Battles His Own AI* (Shueisha Shinsho).

This book uses an experimental method involving dialogue to concretely elucidate the differences between AI intelligence and human intelligence.

Mr. Yoshimi believes that as the use of generative AI becomes more widespread, “AI dementia” is rapidly spreading among students in educational settings.

What is “AI Dementia”?

Drawing on his book *Dialogue with the Self*, he will explain how the education sector can address this serious AI risk. We hope you will join us.
