DIG SHIBUYA 2026 / Digital Garage DRONE SHOW “Earthshot.”

A collaborative project with the “DG New Context Festival 2026,” a social implementation festival that integrates technology, culture, and the city.

3,000 aircraft at the World Expo.

This time, in honor of Digital Garage's 30th anniversary, we're featuring the 3030 model.

The event began with opening remarks by Shibuya Ward Mayor Hasebe and Digital Garage President Hayashi.

Connecting contexts, driving social change.

The urban context of Shibuya became trails of light in the night sky.

My grandfather, who used to live in Shibuya, once said, “Hachiko wasn’t so much a loyal dog as he was just coming to eat yakitori,” but,

Apparently, that Hachiko, craving some yakitori, traveled through time and space to become DiGi8 and appeared in the sky.

Humor that’s quintessentially Shibuya and memories of the city.

I also passionately told Tokyu Real Estate President Hoshino that I’d like to put on a drone show over the water in Takeshiba (*^^*)

A night when the city itself becomes a medium, and culture, technology, and people blend together.

It was an experience that truly embodied Shibuya as a “testing ground for context.”

*By the way, a Hatsune Miku “DecoMiku” live concert was taking place right next door. I’d like to thank Crypton President Ito for coming to the Digital New Year’s Party even though it was the day before.

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
