Before making a scarecrow, let's start by tending to the garden.
Gently spread a layer of compost-based fertilizer over the violas.

Is there any spot that isn't covered with a layer of compost?
Once I've covered all the violas with blankets, I'll water them.
Winter dryness can cause plants to dry out, so water them generously!

After tending to the garden, it’s time to make a scarecrow to protect the plants you’ve tended.
I dressed her in clothes that were too small for her now and decorated her.
What should I use for the eyes? Should I draw a pattern on the clothes?
There are also lots of scarecrows with unique hairstyles!

I put a scarecrow in the garden to make sure it protects the flowers.
Please come see the scarecrows the kids made!

The next GREENWORKSHOP will be held on,
Saturday, February 28, 2026: “~The Story of Our Precious Cotton~ Let’s Spin Yarn Using the Cotton We Grew Together.”
*We will be welcoming Mr. Keiichi Myojin from the NPO Pet Charka no Hiroba as a special guest.
Stay tuned
!
