I thought I saw Tetsuya Mizuguchi’s work at the Quantum Art Festival—and then, to my surprise, he was actually there in person!

The exhibition Mr. Mizuguchi was working on was titled “Two Poems: Living in Two Societies.”

Tetsuya Mizuguchi is a globally acclaimed game creator and a pioneer who has blazed new trails in “sensory experiences” and “immersive experiences” by bridging the worlds of music, video, and technology.

I have always held you in the highest regard as someone who has consistently bridged the worlds of entertainment and art, as well as technology and human sensibility.

Mr. Mizuguchi has been a tremendous help to us ever since the Workshop Collection was launched in 2004.

He has lent us his support whenever we’ve asked him to serve as a judge for the Digital Picture Book Awards or launched a new initiative.

And now, we're working together at KMD as well.

It had been a very long time since we’d met in person, so this unexpected, chance reunion was a truly joyful moment.

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
