- [Announcement] “Results and Challenges of the ‘Shibuya Future Studies’ Inquiry Project”
We are pleased to welcome Mr. Rintaro Ito, Superintendent of the Shibuya City Board of Education, to our online symposium on Wednesday, January 28.
Starting in Reiwa 6, Shibuya Ward has designated the afternoon class period at all public elementary and junior high schools within the ward as time for the “Shibuya Future Studies” inquiry-based program.
This initiative utilizes the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology’s “Special Exemption System for Class Hours” to enhance the “Integrated Learning” period and conduct inquiry-based learning centered on that period.
The children are using the entire town as their classroom to develop a global perspective and engage in more independent inquiry-based learning.
It has been about two years since we launched this initiative. What changes has it brought about in the children’s academic performance and sense of initiative?
He will give a talk titled “Achievements and Challenges of the ‘Shibuya Future Studies’ Inquiry Program.” We hope you will join us.
