- The Birth of the “Ginza Mirai Museum”
A new hub, the “Ginza Mirai Museum,” has opened to share the latest content with the world from Ginza!
The new "Matsuya Ginza Namiki-dori" building opens on Saturday, September 5!
The following is an excerpt from the press release.
Bringing together content such as anime, manga, and video games—which drive Japanese pop culture—we will offer fans from around the world, particularly Gen Z and international visitors, a rich entertainment experience that can only be enjoyed “at that time and in that place,” right here in Ginza.
1. Further Expansion of Our Continually Growing Content Business
We will further strengthen our unique revenue base by leveraging the exhibition expertise we have cultivated through years of organizing cultural events.
With the operation of this facility as one of our key pillars, we will continue to invest in our content business, aiming for sales of 7 billion yen in fiscal year 2029.
2. Acquiring new customers, with a focus on Gen Z and inbound tourists
By offering experiences centered on pop culture—such as anime and video games—that are loved around the world, we aim to attract new fans, including younger customers and international visitors to Japan, who differ from the traditional department store customer base. Furthermore, through collaborative initiatives with the main building, we aim to drive traffic to other sections of the store.
3. Promoting “Japanese Culture” from Ginza to the World
In line with the government’s “New Cool Japan Strategy,” we will differentiate ourselves from other stores by offering Japanese entertainment content in the best possible way. Within five years, we will establish Ginza as a “Mecca of Japanese Culture” in the eyes of the world.

I'm looking forward to it!
