The 12th Platinum Grand Prix Final Judging Presentation and Awards Ceremony

The 12th Platinum Grand Prix Final Judging Presentation and Awards Ceremony.

Chairman Hiroshi Komiyama noted that a total of 696 entries have been received so far, and that reviewing these submissions serves as a roadmap toward realizing a “Platinum Society.” As someone who has organized several awards myself, I can certainly relate to this.

This year’s Platinum Grand Prize/Minister of Economy, Trade and Industry Award went to “Oita Prefecture’s Digital Revolution.” The prefecture compiled a list of all 974 provisions in its ordinances and regulations that were based on analog systems and reviewed them.By the end of Reiwa 6, they will have fully digitized all 3,343 administrative procedures. This represents a thorough commitment to digital transformation. I sincerely hope this initiative spreads nationwide.

The Platinum Grand Prize/Minister of Internal Affairs and Communications Award goes to Franwood Co., Ltd. The company has created high-value-added products capable of competing in the global market and, in the field of forestry—which has traditionally relied on government subsidies—has achieved Japan’s first successful monetization of forests through public-private partnerships. It has established a new forestry model that is both profitable and sustainable. We look forward to significant innovation in the forestry sector.

In the field of education, “Education and Inquiry,” which runs “Quest Education”—an inquiry-based learning program based on real-world scenarios—received the Platinum Grand Prize for Excellence (Next Generation Development Award). The program was recognized for its track record of being implemented in 500 schools nationwide and reaching 100,000 middle and high school students annually. Additionally, Dai Nippon Printing Co., Ltd.’s initiative, “Leaving No One Behind: Diverse Learning, Choices, and a Third Place—Support for Students Who Refuse to Attend School Using the 3D Metaverse,” received the Platinum Grand Prize Challenging Award, a new category established this year.

Congratulations, everyone!

The results have already been posted, and as always, the Platinum Secretariat’s flawless organization is impressive.
