- NHK’s “Project Alien”
NHK's "Project Alien" will air tonight at 12:10 a.m.
"Project Alien" is a TV show in which young people who have reasons for not wanting to show their faces interact in a VR space while concealing their appearances and personal characteristics by taking on the form of alien avatars.
The theme this time is “A Mental Health Field Trip for Teens.” Ramune, 19, developed “panic disorder” and lived as a shut-in for three years. Puchi, 15, developed “depression” and “body dysmorphic disorder” in fifth grade and became unable to go out without makeup.Maruhachi, 19, developed “generalized anxiety disorder” and, after three years of not attending school, is now in her fourth year of high school. What insights will they gain through interactions with peers who share similar struggles and with senior “Aliens” who have appeared on the show in the past?”
Both “Project Alien” and Professor Fujita, who is providing supervision for this event, exhibited at last year’s “The World in Our Minds.”
Believe it or not, it seems that the two of them meeting there is what led to this show, and I'm so happy about it!
We hope to continue creating opportunities for new initiatives like this, centered on the theme of “neurodiversity.”
Let's watch this show first!
