VR × Crafts: “Let’s Take Over VR Town Together!”

What is VR? What does “Virtual” mean??
First, let's take a look at VR Town!
In VR Town, you can change your size, float through the air,
You can easily increase the number and more♬
◆Prep Time
The first hour is dedicated to arts and crafts.
Boxes, scraps of wood, clay, artificial flowers, and other everyday craft materials.
This is a time for everyone to create whatever they like within the limited time available.
◆Viewing Party
It's a VR Town viewing party—parents are welcome to join us, too!
In front of the monitor are displays of artwork actually created by the children.
I wonder what it's like inside VR Town?
"Wow!" "There it is—mine's right over there." "That big tower on top of the building is mine."
Tucked away quietly between the buildings in the back is the “Secret House.”
At the viewing event, I got to see my own work displayed in VR Town, and
When you look at your friends' work and find yourself thinking, "I want to do it this way," go ahead and give it a try!
A sterile VR town lined with square, gray buildings…
It's getting livelier and livelier with the kids' artwork!
As the viewing session progressed, the story of VR Town unfolded.

Chairperson, CANVASAfter graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
