GREEN×EXPO 2027: Official Mascot Character Announced & Name Contest Begins.

The design for the official mascot character—for which I served as a member of the selection committee—has been finalized.

This is a work by Professor Atsushi Makino, who is set to play a major role as a “communicator fostering a new relationship with nature and the Earth.”

During the selection meeting, the discussion centered on the question: “What is the role of a mascot character at an Expo?” I hope the design and role will expand upon the traditional definition of a mascot character.
