- [Report] Saturday, December 9: “Let’s Learn About Japanese Annual Events, Part 2: Let’s Make New Year’s Decorations”
From
a CANVAS Facebook post *******************************************
On Saturday, December 9, we held the event “Let’s Learn About
Japanese Annual Traditions (Part 2): Let’s Make New Year’s Decorations!” 🎍

A whole row of plants from Ark. I wonder what kinds there are?
Find your favorites and use them to decorate your New Year's decorations.

Where should I put what?
The plants you choose, where you place them, and how many you use—you’ll put some thought into
each of these as you arrange them.

Some kids even add decorative ribbons at the end to make their creations look extra festive!

Each plant used in New Year’s decorations has its own special meaning. Take a moment to look at the decorations while
recalling their meanings or looking them up.
The next GREENWORKSHOP will be held on Saturday, January 27: “~Let’s Learn About Traditional Japanese Festivals, Part 3~ Let’s Make a Scarecrow to Protect the Flowers.” We hope you’ll join us! 🌸
