Next week's Learning of Tomorrow Online Symposium will be the last one of the year.
Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT), Bureau of Elementary and Secondary Education, Leader of the School Digitalization Project Team /Director of the Student Support and Teaching Materials Division / Counselor to the Digital Agency (concurrently serving as Director of the Office for Promoting the Use of Cutting-Edge Technologies in Learning and Director of the GIGA StuDX Promotion Team), Mr. Hisayoshi Muto, will join us to discuss “An Explanation from the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology: Guidelines on the Use of Generative AI and Practical Applications in the Classroom.”
As AI technology evolves rapidly, its use in educational settings is expanding. While there are various benefits to its application, there are also concerns. Against this backdrop, in July 2023, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology (MEXT) published the “Provisional Guidelines on the Use of Generative AI in Elementary and Secondary Education.”These guidelines were compiled as a reference for school officials to make informed decisions regarding the use of generative AI, based on government discussions, insights shared at the G7 Education Ministers’ Meeting, and input from experts and the Central Council for Education.
He will explain the purpose of these guidelines and how they are applied in practice. We hope you will join us.
