As AI technology evolves rapidly, its use in educational settings is expanding. While there are various benefits to this, there are also concerns. Against this backdrop, in July 2023, the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology published the “Provisional Guidelines on the Use of Generative AI in Elementary and Secondary Education.”

These guidelines were compiled as a reference for school officials to help them make informed decisions about the use of generative AI, based on government discussions, insights shared at the G7 Education Ministers’ Meeting, and feedback from experts and the Central Council for Education. We will explain the purpose of these guidelines and discuss their practical application in schools. We hope you will join us.
