We are establishing B Lab Miyagi, which will be based in the Tohoku region. Drawing on the experience gained from supporting reconstruction efforts following the Great East Japan Earthquake, B Lab Miyagi will chart a new vision for regional revitalization.

In the Tohoku region, which has experienced a major earthquake, we host festivals and the World BOSAI Forum to make disaster preparedness fun and accessible, like entertainment, and to raise awareness among as many people as possible. By using the English term “BOSAI” to represent “disaster preparedness,” we aim to share with the international community all initiatives and concepts—including pre-disaster measures, post-disaster emergency response, and the recovery and reconstruction phases. Furthermore, by utilizing a character that symbolizes reconstruction, we will connect regions across Japan and around the world to actively promote the revitalization of each community.

Furthermore, at B Lab Miyagi, we are building a community and environment where people can realize their dreams and aspirations—even if they lack the necessary conditions, experience, or financial resources. By sharing our aspirations and visions for the future, taking action together, and pooling our individual resources (things, experiences, and achievements), we will create and transform a new future.We aim to build a community that leverages technology, nurtures people, and generates value through engagement with the local community. We will also create a network that blends the online and offline worlds, fostering a free and authentic flow of information among real people. Furthermore, we will support individuals who, starting from scratch, are bringing their ideas to life and realizing new ways of living, and we will promote these activities through initiatives such as book publishing.
