- [Event on November 16] “Diverse Learning Approaches to Nurture Children’s Individual Talents and Characteristics: Inclusive Education at Meihokan High School”
This week's Learning of Tomorrow Online Symposium will feature Mr. Kozo Hino, Chairman and Principal of Meihokan High School.
Meihokan High School opened in Kawasaki Town, Fukuoka Prefecture—which was designated as a Special Education Zone in 2009—as a wide-area correspondence high school that actively accepts students who are not attending school or who have developmental differences. To accommodate students’ diverse backgrounds, learning styles, and needs, students can study anytime, anywhere, as long as they have an internet connection. Furthermore, the school has established a special education course called “SNEC (Special Needs Education Center),” a learning environment specifically tailored for students with developmental differences. By utilizing ICT, the school creates a learning environment suited to these developmental differences, fostering the students’ growth.
What does “diverse learning” that nurtures each child’s individual talents and characteristics look like? We will hear about education that addresses diverse needs and the initiatives being undertaken at Meihokan High School. We hope you will join us.
