- Mitsumasa Yasuno Museum of Art
The Mitsumasa Anno Museum of Art, built in Tsuwano Town, Mr. Anno’s hometown.
She made her debut as a picture book author with *Mysterious Pictures*, a book she created after being captivated by Escher’s artwork.
The first picture book by Mr. Yasuno that I ever got my hands on was also *The Mysterious Picture*.
"The Book of A-I-U-E-O" is another long-standing bestseller, but the artist reportedly created it not to teach the alphabet, but to connect traditional Japanese forms with language. At the entrance to the art museum, there is a bench shaped like the character "ta" that visitors can sit on.
One of the charms of Ms. Anno’s picture books is that, guided by her gentle, beautiful, mysterious, and surprising illustrations, you find yourself lost in the world of letters, math, and science before you even realize it.
The walls of the art museum were also arranged in a magic square.
