- Japan Game Awards “U18 Division” Finals
Japan Game Awards “U18 Division” Finals.
Congratulations to the Gold Prize winner, “Music Runner,” the Silver Prize winner, “REWIND,” and the Bronze Prize winner, “Life Game Wondara”!
Although the average age of the entrants for this award was 14.8, the overall level was so high—and the range of game genres so diverse—that it was difficult to distinguish between them, making it a challenge to assign scores.
However, the fact that the judges unanimously agreed on the winning entry suggests that it truly stands out in terms of entertainment value. I feel that behind this lies a strong commitment to the worldview the creator seeks to build, as well as a relentless pursuit of artistic expression.
The U18 category of the Japan Game Awards, which has been held for six years, will be succeeded by NHK Enterprises’ “God Game Creator Evolution” starting in fiscal year 2024.
It has been a pleasure to follow the evolution of the entries and the contest itself up close as a judge over the past six years ^^
Since this was the last time the event was held in this format, I took my first-ever photo with Level-5 President Hino and Famitsu.com Editor-in-Chief Mitsugawa, who have served as judges alongside me.
Great job! Thank you very much!
