Meeting Held for an Exchange of Views Between the Parliamentary League on ICT in Education and Municipal Leaders and Superintendents of Education

Notice Regarding the Exchange Meeting Between the Parliamentary League on ICT in Education and Municipal Leaders and Superintendents of Education. To all municipal leaders and superintendents of education.

I saw a post about the postcard we sent, so I thought I'd post something too.

In order to continue and further develop the GIGA School Initiative, we have arranged a forum for the exchange of views between the Cross-Party Parliamentary League on Education ICT—composed of lawmakers from across party lines—and the mayors and superintendents of schools from municipalities nationwide.

Currently, the Japanese government is considering budgetary measures for the Next GIGA School Initiative in preparation for the replacement of IT devices in municipalities starting next fiscal year.Although the government’s “Basic Policy” has designated one device per student as an essential tool for public education, securing the necessary budget is by no means a foregone conclusion. Depending on how budgetary measures are structured, there is concern that ongoing maintenance and upgrades could be hindered. Therefore, it is essential that members of the Diet and education professionals on the ground once again thoroughly share and deepen their understanding of the achievements of the GIGA School Initiative, as well as the expectations and necessity for its future, and devote their full efforts to realizing the Next GIGA School Initiative.

We apologize for the inconvenience, but we would appreciate it if you could make every effort to attend.

To all mayors and superintendents of cities, towns, and villages: Please feel free to reach out to us! (*^^*)
