- Asahi Advertising Award Ceremony
The Asahi Advertising Awards ceremony, established in 1952, is celebrating its 71st anniversary this year.
The Digital Collaboration Division was launched this year, and I served as a judge.
Congratulations to all the winners!

The judging process was a lot of fun. That’s because I came across so many expressions that made my heart flutter!
It’s something only a newspaper as a medium can do—yet it goes beyond traditional newspaper advertising.
While starting with paper, it extends into the digital realm, space, and society.
I was able to encounter many such expressions.
And in the General Category, I came across projects that, far from merely expanding the medium, were actually transforming it.
With a little ingenuity, paper media can be transformed into a different form of media.
Not only does it convey the intended message effectively, but it also brings new inspiration, discoveries, and smiles.
It was brimming with ideas like that.
Of course, there are likely to be many hurdles—such as technical challenges and cost issues—to overcome before this can take the form of a “newspaper ad.”
However, I feel that the ideas here will once again pave the way for a new future in expression.
I reunited with Tomoe Shinohara, who also served as a judge for the Digital Ehon Awards, for the first time in a while♪
She was as charming as ever—and absolutely wonderful.
