CANVAS [Report] “Let’s Set Out on a Creature Exploration Adventure! Let’s Find the Creatures Living in Ark’s Garden”
From
a CANVAS Facebook post*******************************************
On Saturday, June 24, we held the event “Let’s Set Off on a Creature Exploration Expedition!—Let’s Find the Creatures Living in Ark’s Garden.”
Let's start by collecting woodlice on the rooftop garden!
I've heard that woodlice eat plant leaves and stems, so if their numbers get too high, it's bad for the plants.
Big woodlice, tiny woodlice, patterned woodlice (females), jet-black woodlice (males)… I wonder what kinds of woodlice gathered and how many there were?
What other insects or creatures were there??
Earwigs, centipedes, earthworms, slugs, stink bugs…
There were dragonfly nymphs and tadpoles (their legs had started to grow!) in the water, too.
If you've brought a pill bug home, please take good care of it.
After tending to everyone’s flower beds in the main garden, we had a honey-harvesting experience
We spin the honey extractor (apparently, “centrifugal force” is used to extract the honey!) to collect the honey.
We tasted just a little bit of the honey we all collected together. I wonder what it tasted like??
The next GREENWORKSHOP will be held on Saturday, July 22: “Let’s Make Plant-Based Paint and Write a Letter—Try Writing Words and Drawing Pictures with the Beautiful Colors from Plants.” We hope you’ll join us!
