◆ Featured Project: 

B Lab Nagasaki Launches Community Center Workshop: “First-Time Filmmaking for Seniors”!
Starting in April, a filmmaking workshop utilizing iPads available at the Sanwa Community Center in Nagasaki City has begun. The 12 participants are residents in their 60s through 80s who feel anxious or reluctant about using digital technology. Over the course of four sessions, they will take on the challenge of creating films based on their hobbies, memories, and the local natural and cultural landscapes.

◆ What’s New! for Each Project

As part of TBS’s SDGs Week initiative, “Make the Earth Smile Week,” we’ll be holding a Future Chart Workshop on May 18 and 19 at TBS’s “Make the Earth Smile Plaza”! Children will take on the role of future Minato Ward mayors, gain an understanding of social issues, and work together to develop policy proposals.

Neurodiversity Project
We’re working to raise awareness that brains are diverse and to help people understand that, even in the same environment, individual characteristics can make life easier or more difficult for different people! As the first step in our activities, we’ve decided to hold an exhibition titled “The World in Our Minds” and held a kickoff meeting with all participating members!

On Tuesday, May 30, at 5:00 PM, we will host a public recording session for the Fuji TV official YouTube program “#Shigotozuki: Leaders’ Ways of Thinking [Introductory Edition]” at iU.The theme this time is the much-discussed “ChatGPT.” In addition to a lecture on how ChatGPT works and its applications in the business world, we will hold a presentation contest featuring iU students sharing their ideas for using ChatGPT. We hope you’ll join us.

We are introducing “Statista,” a world-class global database, to all students and faculty members. We are committed to creating a campus environment that leverages data science to strengthen entrepreneurs’ creativity and proposal-making skills, as well as to promoting and raising awareness of this approach. Furthermore, by sharing this resource with educational institutions across Japan, we aim to promote the widespread adoption and understanding of data infrastructure in Japanese education.

KINIX is developing and promoting a new sport that fuses indoor cycling and esports. We have begun activities toward implementing “KINIX in iU.”

It has been 10 years since the Rana Plaza collapse in April 2013. While the public has become increasingly aware of the deep-rooted problems with fast fashion, no viable alternatives have yet emerged.Enter the E, a brand dedicated to ethical fashion, has launched the “TEN” project. Based on the concept of creating new styles and values in fashion, it offers basic items that are “cool enough to wear for 10 years.” This project is collaborating with the social contribution app “actcoin” to run a giveaway campaign for users.

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
