- [Announcement] “Why Inclusive Education Matters: Building Inclusive Schools and Societies”
For the online symposium on Wednesday, May 10, we will be welcoming Ms. Akina Noguchi, a board member of the UNIVA General Incorporated Association.
Since the adoption of the “Convention on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities,” various discussions and educational practices related to inclusive education have been taking place in Japan as well.
Since the United Nations issued its recommendation last year, I feel that I’ve been hearing the term “inclusive education” more often.
Mr. Noguchi, who has been actively involved in a wide range of initiatives—including direct support for children with intellectual and developmental disabilities, training for educators and other adults involved in their care, and the development of teaching materials and programs—will speak about what is essential for creating an environment that embraces and recognizes diversity and individuality, and fosters coexistence. We hope you will join us.
