- Kyushu University’s Legendary Speciality: “Jiro-Style Spaghetti”
I hear that Kyushu University's legendary specialty, "Jiro-style Spaghetti," is making a comeback—but only today and tomorrow.
In a small corner of the packed school cafeteria, President Yanase of GooDay and I enjoyed a rare dish together.
Apparently, this dish was created in the 1980s as part of the Kyushu University Co-op’s “Idea Menu” contest, and
This dish consists of butter-soy sauce spaghetti topped with mentaiko, tuna, shiso-flavored kelp, and green peas, and is finished by tossing it with an egg.
It seems this signature dish was a beloved favorite for over 30 years, but it was discontinued in 2015. You can enjoy this legendary flavor during the Workshop Collection event.
It was so delicious—why did it disappear from the menu?!
I'll try making it at home next time.
Everyone, be sure to try the "Jiro-style spaghetti" at the cafeteria during your break from the Workshop Collection.
