[Video] “Digital Citizenship Education: What Does It Mean to Become a Good Digital Citizen Who Uses ICT Positively?”

On November 17, 2022, Learning of Tomorrow hosted an online symposium titled “Digital Citizenship Education: What Does It Mean to Learn to Become a Good Digital Citizen Who Makes Positive Use of ICT?” featuring Shun Sakamoto, a professor in the School of Career Design at Hosei University.

In the first half, we will explore what “digital citizenship” is—a concept that is now not only prevalent in cutting-edge educational settings but is also increasingly referenced by the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications and the Cabinet Office. We discussed the content and current state of digital citizenship education—based on ESD (Education for Sustainable Development), which is gaining traction in Europe and the United States—as well as specific initiatives being implemented in Japan’s educational settings, which are still lagging behind. In the second half, we held a Q&A session with viewers, joined by Nanako Ishido, Chairperson of Learning of Tomorrow.

We have also published the report.
