[February 15] “The Concept of ‘Weak Robots’ and Its Potential Applications in the Field of Learning Support”

Next week’s Learning of Tomorrow Online Symposium will feature Professor Michio Okada of Toyohashi University of Technology, who advocates for “weak robots.”

AI and robots have evolved rapidly and are beginning to become an integral part of our daily lives. While robots are often expected to prioritize convenience, Professor Okada—who has developed “vulnerable robots” that, contrary to conventional perceptions, instinctively make us want to help and care for them—will discuss the potential applications of these robots in the field of learning support. Professor Okada is currently conducting research on the design and construction of new learning environments that utilize robots.

I am interested in achieving well-being through the coexistence of humans and robots, and since I myself live with several robots, I resonate with the concept of “weak robots.”

I also recommend this book by Professor Michio Okada!

Please be sure to join our online symposium.
