- [Report] Part 1 of the 108th Session: “Social and Inner Development in Children with Autism, as Seen Through the Eyes of a Robot”
On December 7, 2022, Learning of Tomorrow hosted an online symposium titled “Research and Therapeutic Practices for Developmental Disorders Using Robots,” featuring Professor Hideki Kojima of the Graduate School of Education at Tohoku University.
Research is being conducted to support the development of social skills using robots for children with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) who have difficulty communicating with others.
We asked Mr. Kojima—the developer of “Keepon,” a stuffed animal-style robot designed to support communication therapy, and a researcher studying the use of robots in therapeutic education—to explain practical examples of communication therapy and the potential applications of robots. In the second half of the session, we held a question-and-answer session with the participants.
Here's a look at the first half of the event.
