[Announcement] “Toward an Education System in Japan That Leaves No One Behind Through New Forms of Collaboration Between ‘Online and In-Person’ and ‘Government, Schools, and the Private Sector’”

For the online symposium on Wednesday, January 11, we will be joined by Kumi Imamura, Representative Director of the Certified NPO Katariba.

Katariba, a certified NPO, began its activities in 2001. For approximately 20 years, it has been engaged in a variety of educational activities in response to changes in society. As part of these efforts, the organization provides support such as home visits, safe spaces, and academic assistance for children who are not attending school. In 2021, it launched “room-K,” an online learning space for children who are unable to attend school, as well as an online counseling service where parents can seek advice regarding their concerns.

Drawing on examples from Toda City in Saitama Prefecture, Mr. Imamura, our Executive Director, will discuss the insights gained from our online support program initiatives, as well as the nature of public-private partnerships and collaboration. We hope you will join us.
