Workshop Collection in Yamaguchi to Be Held

Workshop Collection in Yamaguchi. This is the second time the event has been held in Yamaguchi. Once again, it’s a huge success, with all 4,000 spots for advance registration filled (we’re sorry to those who weren’t selected in the lottery).

The lineup of exhibitors is diverse, including Yamaguchi Prefecture, Chugoku Electric Power and other local companies, the Yamaguchi Prefectural Museum, the Yamaguchi Correctional Facility, Yamaguchi University and several other universities, Yamaguchi Prefectural High Schools, and mothers’ clubs, among others.

After seeing so many workshops, it’s rare to come across something truly new, but I was absolutely captivated by the cell keychain-making workshop offered by the Faculty of Science at Yamaguchi University.

We would like to express our gratitude to everyone in the Yamaguchi Prefecture Network for Promoting Human Resource Development in a New Era—led by the Governor of Yamaguchi Prefecture, who has been spearheading the “Workshop Collection in Yamaguchi” initiative—as well as to all the exhibitors and visitors!

According to people in Yamaguchi Prefecture, this is “a rare event where you don’t have to worry about attracting an audience at all,” so we’re discussing increasing the number of spots available for walk-ins next year without having to worry about COVID-19.

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
