[Announcement] “Research and Therapeutic Practice for Developmental Disorders Using Robots”

For the online symposium on Wednesday, December 7, we will be welcoming Professor Hideki Kojima from the Graduate School of Education at Tohoku University.

Children with ASD (autism spectrum disorder) tend to have difficulty communicating with others. Various studies have been conducted on the use of robots to support the development of communication skills and social skills in children with ASD, and there are high hopes for their practical application.

We are pleased to welcome Dr. Kojima, who developed “Keepon”—a stuffed animal-style robot designed to support communication therapy—and is conducting research on the use of robots in therapeutic education. Dr. Kojima will share practical examples from the field of communication therapy and discuss the potential applications of robots. We hope you will join us.
