[October 19 Event] “The Challenge of Diversifying Learning: What Is the Wao High School Approach to Learning, Centered on ‘Discussion and Dialogue’?”

Tomorrow's "Learning of Tomorrow" online symposium is titled "The Challenge of Diversifying Learning: What Is the Wao High School Approach to Learning, Centered on 'Discussion and Dialogue'?"

WAO Corporation, which operates cram schools such as “Nokai Center” and “Axis Individual Tutoring” across all 47 prefectures in Japan, opened “WAO High School” in April 2021—a wide-area correspondence high school where students can earn a high school diploma.Leveraging over 40 years of experience in private education, the school offers original learning content—including general subjects, liberal arts and inquiry courses, and optional programs—in addition to standard curriculum. With the goal of broadening students’ future possibilities by combining their interests with high school learning, the program allows students to freely design their learning experience in terms of location, time, and content.

"Unlike traditional correspondence high schools, Wao High School offers a new learning experience through interactive education. We believe it will bring about a transformation in an educational system that has seen little change for 100 years," says Principal Ushio Yamamoto. He will discuss Wao High School’s initiatives and future educational vision. We hope you will join us.
