Using bolts, washers, and nuts,
Create movement and be resourceful.
■Bolts, Washers, and Nuts
Do you know what materials we're using today?
The order in which you use them is important.
"Bolt, craft paper, washer, nut, bolt, craft paper, washer, nut, bolt…"
Carefully, one by one.

"A nut? It looks like natto (lol)," and we all burst out laughing!
Where exactly is movement found?
I wonder how it works?

Myself (as a person), a door, a car, a train, and a chair at the lab!
Why do people move?
Because the bones move!
There was something that looked like a lump in the moving parts, and it would move—that helped me visualize how the joints work.
It looks like ideas for movements are bubbling up in abundance.
With this bolt, washer, and nut, now then…
What kind of movement will emerge?
■How Do Crabs Move?
What kind of movement will we create…?
Let's start with the crab's movements!
How do crabs move?

While actually trying it out…
We'll use bolts, washers, and nuts to create the crab's movements.
A crab with loooong legs that moves around a lot
A crab with one leg and lots of eyes!?
I like movements that aren't like a crab's… I'm going to make a snake! Those squiggly, wriggly movements!

I used ingredients you can find anywhere.
A simple mechanism.
That's where it all began
Everyone works quietly on their own.
I make it while glancing at the kid next to me who’s “making” it.
Before long, it spreads throughout the entire room.
That's how it was.

Well, next month we have a science program called “Dome Speaker.”
I wonder what we'll be doing?
I look forward to meeting you.
