[Report] “~‘Gifts from the Garden’: Seeing Plants Through the Heart~ Let’s Make Bottle Lights with Plants from Our Gardens”

From a CANVAS Facebook post

*******************************************

On August 27, we held the event “~‘Gifts from the Garden’: Seeing Plants with the Heart~ Let’s Make Bottle Lights with Plants from Your Garden.” *We were pleased to welcome lighting designer Yasuhito Genma as a special guest.

I walked in and was surprised. My usual room had been transformed into a completely different space!

First, I’ll look for materials for a bottle lantern in the garden.

Instead of fresh flowers and plants, look for dried flowers and leaves.

When you get back to your room, take a look at today's materials!

All of these dried flowers bloomed in Ark's garden.

It looks completely different when it's in bloom than when it's dried.

Which plant should I choose?

While also considering how things will look when the lights are on,

Decorate the bottle with stickers, or fill it with lots of flowers (leaving a little space at the top).

At the end, we all admired how the lights shone.

The nasturtiums and cotton plants we all planted together have grown quite a bit!

I'm looking forward to seeing how they grow from here.

The next GREENWORKSHOP will be held on September 24.
