Learning of Tomorrow [Announcement] “From VR to the Metaverse: Toward a Post-COVID Society” For our online symposium on Wednesday, September 14, we are pleased to welcome Professor Emeritus Michitaka Hirose of the University of Tokyo, who will speak on the topic “From VR to the Metaverse: Toward a Post-COVID Society.”
Spurred by the spread of the novel coronavirus, various technology industries—including VR—have undergone significant changes. Existing roadmaps have been disrupted, leading to a substantial acceleration of technology development. One of the key terms in this context is “metaverse.”
We are pleased to welcome Professor Michitaka Hirose, a leading authority on VR research and the Service VR Project Leader at the University of Tokyo’s Research Center for Advanced Science and Technology, who will discuss the key differences between the metaverse and traditional VR, as well as the future potential of the metaverse. We look forward to your participation.
