The star of this story is “mending tape.”
Mendo: A type of tape used to repair paper; the name derives from the Japanese word meaning “to repair” or “to fix.”
This time, let's really go all out using mending tape as our material.
What kinds of things can you do with mending tape?
First, take a close look at the mending tape
When you touch it, is it smooth? Or silky?
You can even cut mending tape by hand!
And you can also write with a pencil or pen.
If the tape runs out, draw a picture on it (or write something, of course).
If you keep layering tape on top of that…??
8, 10, 20… How many do I have to stack before they disappear?
Finally, let's try making something on our own using mending tape.
Drawing on a clear file folder using tape (color it in with colored pencils or pens to make it vibrant),
Creating a Maze by Combining Files (Apparently, you just stack the files to complete it)
Adding patterns with tape to things you have at home, or
We tried putting things inside the tape, and it inspired a whole bunch of creations!
The next Secret Base event is on July 31! Stay tuned!
◯ We also look forward to seeing you at our other workshops
