Masutomi Geographical Society Hall

I visited the "Masutomi Jigaku Kaikan," located next to the Kyoto Imperial Palace.

This is a stone museum that Dr. Toshinosuke Masutomi established at his home using his own funds.

The collection includes 20,000 specimens of minerals, fossils, and rocks from around the world.

I heard it was created with the hope of becoming a gathering place for people interested in earth sciences, and from early in the morning, lots of rock enthusiasts—from kids to seniors—had already gathered there ^^
