#Kids Researcher's Diary: Sunday, April 3
"STEAM Workshop: Measure and Create—LED Edition"
(Program provided by michica / Spatial design by Fukazawa Art Laboratory) was held.

Here's a quick look at what it was like

The world of electricity right at everyone's fingertips.
Let's take a peek into the world of electricity using a tester (digital multimeter)!
First, take a close look at the parts you'll be using!
Let's take a really close look at LEDs and resistors.
When you use the parts we observed to make an LED light up… Are they all the same brightness?
It seems like there are people who shine brightly and others who shine just a little…!?
If you measure it with a tester, you might be able to see the difference in brightness in numerical terms!
By examining and recording the values of three types of resistors and the circuit voltage,
We analyzed the differences in brightness based on the numbers.

The tester also beeps to let you know that electricity is flowing.
Kids who discovered objects that make sounds among a variety of materials,
Some of the kids even found objects that made sounds throughout the entire room, such as doors and chairs.

Next, we'll build a slightly complex circuit using full-color LEDs.
There are a lot of parts to use, so be careful…
Once the full-color LED lights up, try creating the three colors—red, blue, and green!

Creating colors I like, or experimenting with different colors
Finally, let's create original works by combining circuits and materials!

Combined with cotton, it created a jewel-like sparkle, and when paired with colorful acrylic, it produced a magical glow.
I hope you'll continue to have fun making these at home, too!
(Once you've finished your project, be sure to post it with the hashtags #KidsCreativeLab and #MeasureAndCreate!)
Next time, on Sunday, May 1: "Measure and Create: Switch + ○○?" Stay tuned!
