We held a photography workshop (program provided by Akina Tokiyoshi, artist)!
What does a hamster’s face look like? What about its body? What color is it? Take a close look at photos of various hamsters, combine them, and create a 3D collage of a single hamster. Go back and forth between the photos in front of you and the memories in your head, and use your imagination to create a “nearly real” hamster☆!
■What Is "Authenticity"?
While I was looking at the photos of Ham☆Star taken by the artist Tokiyoshi,
A kid said, "Ew, that's gross!" Why is it gross?
So, which one looks the most real? Why is that?
While talking about that…
We had a conversation about what exactly “almost real” means—the concept we’ll be exploring today.
■Shaping: Carefully tear the pieces and glue them together

Just roll the clay into a ball like a daifuku and give it a little twist, and—
It starts to look like an ear or a mouth.
Choose your favorite photos from a variety of hamster pictures, and
Carefully tear them apart and piece them back together.
Depending on which photo you choose and where you cut it,
Depending on how you put those pieces together,
He's turning into a completely different hamster☆.

"How can I become almost a real hamster?"
So the fur flows smoothly?
Is it possible to create a "nearly realistic" image just by using a background photo that doesn't include a hamster? Maybe?
The hamster☆ everyone made today is,
Maybe everyone, without exception…
"Beautiful," or something like that
"Pretty," or something like that
It might not be something you can feel.
But there's a special attachment to something you've created with your own hands.
Things I thought were great.
On the other hand, here are some things that made me feel like, “Hmm, that’s a little off.”
It's true that they're using a photo of a hamster, but,
When you combine each of them into a 3D collage,
Becoming each hamster☆ with a slightly mysterious look on their faces.
I hope you'll take that home with you.

I wonder if the hamsters☆ are playing hide-and-seek in everyone's homes right about now?
Who will find it? Who will come across it?
I look forward to seeing you again!
