#Kids Researcher's Log: Sunday, November 14, 2021, and Sunday, November 28, 2021—"Autumn Camp 2021 STEAM Workshop: Fantasy Photo Party" in Takeshiba
We invited baby toi as a guest instructor and held a STEAM workshop titled “Fantasy Photo Party.”
https://www.canvas.ws/kenkyujo/report/20211114-takeshiba.php

"What kind of person do you want to be?" "Where do you want to go?" They make crafts, strike poses, and try their hand at programming.
Let's create the world's most creative commemorative photo!
At the end of the workshop, we'll all have a fantasy photo party!
[Day 1] “A Major Transformation into the Person You Want to Be! Setting Off on a Virtual Trip?!”
What do I want to be? Where do I want to go?
First, sketch out the person you want to become or the place you want to be using words or illustrations.
Once you've finished your sketch, use fabric, cardboard, cotton, and lots of other materials to…
Making costumes.

Once your costume is ready, you’ll create a “miniature garden” representing the place where the person you want to be lives.
Some children attached ribbons to the front, while others used cotton to represent clouds.
There's even a child with a big rainbow arching over the roof!

Last but not least, it's time for the big photo shoot!
Everyone gets into character as the person they want to be and strikes a pose!
I approached the photo shoot while paying close attention to my facial expressions, movements, and poses.

[Day 2] "Make Your Dreams Come True! Try Your Hand at Programming!"
After finishing the first day's project, I tried using Scratch to make my character move.

How do I move it up and down?
Even movements that happen by chance are fun!
Maybe this color is better?
What kind of music would work best for this piece?
A work packed with everyone’s unique touches is now complete!

Once it's finally finished, the last step is… the presentation!!
In front of everyone, they presented the key points of their work while showing videos of their projects and Scratch.
I wonder what kind of art projects my other friends made?
As the video played, cheers of “Ooooh!” rang out from the audience.
The piece I created over two days of trial and error was brimming with "my dreams."
Please keep using Scratch at home to create even more wonderful dreams!
