[Announcement] “Digital Talent Development and the Next Step”

At the online symposium on Wednesday, February 2, Mr. Koji Machida of Deloitte Tohmatsu Consulting (hereinafter “DTC”) will deliver a presentation on the theme of “Digital Talent Development.”

Human resource development in the digital age has become a critical issue for the entire nation. The Learning of Tomorrow Association believes that society demands a platform capable of increasing the total number of digital professionals, identifying the needs of local businesses, and supplying the appropriate talent. To that end, the Association has established the “Meta University Working Group” to conduct concrete studies toward building such a platform.

Following extensive discussions centered on DTC, a member of the working group, an interim report on the definition of digital talent was submitted to the Ministry of Economy, Trade and Industry in November of last year.

Drawing on the expertise cultivated over the Deloitte Tohmatsu Group’s 50-year history, Mr. Machida of DTC—who has been developing professionals capable of thriving on the global stage—will speak on the topic “Digital Talent Development and the Next Steps.” We hope you will join us.

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
