Event on December 8: “Real-World Programming That Captivates Students in the Digital and STEAM Era: Lessons from the toio Robot”

This week's Learning of Tomorrow Online Symposium features everyone's favorite, toio!

"toio" is a robot toy that can be freely programmed to move in combination with crafts and building blocks. It has garnered attention as a programming educational tool that "turns play into learning" and has been adopted by elementary and middle schools in several municipalities.

“When children play with ‘toio’—which lets them place LEGO bricks and other objects on it and move them freely through programming—they gradually begin to see the world around them from the robot’s perspective, naturally gaining an understanding of what the robot is thinking and how it moves. Acquiring computational thinking while having fun through these formative experiences—the kind that captivated us as children—will likely foster the intuitive understanding and confidence needed in the coming era, when robots and AI will become our everyday partners,”” We are pleased to welcome Ms. Akemi Tanaka, “toio” developer and Section Chief of the toio Business Promotion Office at Sony Interactive Entertainment, who will speak on the topic, “Real-World Programming That Captivates in the Digital and STEAM Era: Lessons from the toio Robot.”

We hope you'll join us!
