We held the "Yarn Giraffe Pattern" workshop (for elementary school students) in Takeshiba.

Wrap various types of yarn around it, and
I'm going to make a giraffe that feels really good.
It feels great to peel off the Harepane sticker.
Tell the group facilitator what kind of yarn you want.

Thick yarn, thin yarn, sparkly yarn, fluffy yarn, and yarn that looks like potato salad.
If I were to compare this yarn to food, what would it be?
Carbonara? Ramen? Rice noodles?
I'm starting to get hungry…
Oh, the giraffe's front legs have turned a spring-like color!
Cherry blossoms, rapeseed flowers, and a blue sky.
Let's save the hind legs for summer.
Oh, are you a "Hosoha" type? (Meaning: someone who prefers wrapping with thin yarn.)
I'm in the "Thick Yarn" camp. (Meaning: I prefer wrapping things with thick yarn.)

・・・・・
Winding the yarn into a ball.
We chat away.
From an act repeated to the point of being surprising,
I immerse myself in a rich world of imagination.
It starts with a giraffe, and then my attention shifts to something other than a giraffe.
A child who just rolls the dough without saying a word.
A child who rolls while chatting.
A child wandering around collecting yarn.
It’s filled with space that naturally makes children want to ○○, and
In that time, there is neither "easy" nor "hard."
・・・・・
This time,
I made a giraffe that feels really good.
It suddenly feels as cold as winter.
It's the perfect season for cozy yarn.

I'm looking forward to seeing you again in November!
