Guest speakers: DIZ (from "Movie Actibest") and Shinnosuke (a TikTok creator who shares movie reviews)

We held the "How to Create Moving Videos" workshop (co-hosted by uni)!

On the first day, I watched a movie and thought about my impressions, and on the second day, I made a video sharing my thoughts!

[Day 1]

■Self-Introduction ⇄ Why?

Let's start with a warm-up!

As a way of introducing myself, I’ll share my favorite games, the things I’m currently into, and my favorite movies.

From Mr. Shinnosuke: “Why do you like him?” “Why did you think he was cool?”

Someone asked, “Why did you get hooked on it?”…

When I’m actually asked,

Some kids say things like, “Why do I like it?” or “I’ve never really thought about it.”

But thinking about “why” is actually very important when trying to convey something to someone else.

We’ll each think about it, write down our own reasons, and repeat the process of communicating them.

■Viewing Time

After the warm-up, we watched the movie.

Instead of just watching a movie, it listed favorite scenes and characters I didn't like

I'll spend my time filling out the questionnaire.

It's hard because I don't usually take notes while watching…

Staring intently at the video and the questionnaire…

■Presentation Time

We took turns sharing what we had written on the questionnaire about the movie we watched.

Everyone has their own favorite character.

Surprisingly, there are also kids who don't have a character they dislike or a scene they dislike.

When asked, “Why do you like it?”, after thinking for a moment,

He answered carefully, citing specific scenes and character names.

It's actually pretty hard to watch something while taking notes…

I have a vivid memory of everyone writing while trying to remember who had appeared…

[Day 2]

■Practice Expressing Yourself with Words!

From the things I listed as my favorites on the self-introduction sheet from Day 1,

I'll choose one thing to introduce.

For example, if it were a movie…

・What do you like about it?

・Why I like it, why I thought it was good (reasons)

・Who is this recommended for? etc.

Write down 4–5 items from a given list and practice explaining them the same way you did on Day 1.

■ Let's Make a Review Video!

I’ll watch several short films and choose the ones I’d like to feature in my review video.

Write down the answers to the following questions on a piece of paper: “What kind of movie is it?”, “What’s the story?”, “What do you like about it?”, and “Who would you recommend it to?”

I'll transcribe the dialogue.

Shinnosuke taught me some tips for taking photos…

Let's start filming!

When he stands in front of the camera, he exudes a commanding presence.

The movie trailers also used short phrases to convey what the movies were about.

Finally, it was time for the video viewing session to share our thoughts.

Even the closing line of the review video—"Be sure to check it out!"—had a certain tone of voice and a slight pause.

A video brimming with personality is complete!!

Please give video editing a try at home, too.
