#Kids Researcher's Log Sunday, August 29: We held the #Online #Workshop "Bubble Wrap + ○○?"!

The star of the show this time is bubble wrap! Bubble wrap (also known as “air cushioning material”) usually protects everyone’s precious packages from getting damaged, but this time, let’s go all out and use it as a craft material! What kinds of things can we make with bubble wrap? In the preschool class, the bubble wrap quiz contest was a huge hit! 🎶

“What do you think’s inside? Here’s a hint…” “I got it!” Through these quizzes, the kids naturally started interacting with one another.Whether in the preschool or elementary school classes, during craft time, the kids used large tracks and bubble wrap to create full-body outfits, large pieces like futons and pillows, and combined them with items found around the house (like paper cups and balloons)—transforming the bubble wrap into all sorts of different forms ✨

The next Secret Base session is on September 26. Building a robot using things you have at home…!?

    After graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
    He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
    His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
