- [Report] The 55th Online Symposium: Part 1—“Rethinking the Structural Transformation of Public Education, Starting with the Question, ‘What Is the Purpose of Education in the First Place?’”
On July 20, 2021, Learning of Tomorrow hosted an online symposium titled “A Structural Transformation of Public Education: Starting from the Question ‘What Is the Purpose of Education in the First Place?’,” featuring Kazunori Tomano, an associate professor in the Faculty of Education at Kumamoto University and an educational philosopher.
In the first half of the symposium, Mr. Tomano delivered a lecture on the role of public education in profoundly transforming human history, the distortions that have arisen over the past 150 years, and the “three keys” to structurally transforming “learning” and “public education.” The second half consisted of a question-and-answer session.
Here's a look at the first half of the event.
