: "Let's Make Vegetable Rockets!" (Program provided by Professor Black Lab) was held

[Kids Creative Institute Preschool Class] #Workshop #Takeshiba https://www.canvas.ws/kenkyujo/report/2021814in.php

We invited Professor Black Lab—who used to teach at a university and is also a comedian—as a guest lecturer to lead our science program!

This program is called “Let’s Make a Veggie Rocket.” Can vegetables really become rockets? What’s a rocket? We’re going to space! Do vegetables actually fly?? They float in space! Why? Because there’s no gravity! (You sure know your stuff~) Well, today we’re going to conduct an experiment using the power of vegetables.

■Vegetables that produce a lot of oxygen… ?

After watching Professor Black Lab’s skit… (Everyone burst out laughing…!) We’re going to conduct an experiment to see what happens when we use vegetables—which are needed to launch a rocket—and hydrogen peroxide as fuel.According to Professor Black Lab, vegetables and hydrogen peroxide should produce oxygen. Once oxygen is produced, the rubber glove set up in a cup should inflate… and a “Glove Alien” should be born! Or so we thought!? Which vegetable produces the most oxygen? Thanks to the experiments conducted by all the researchers, we were able to obtain a variety of results!

■Rocket Launch!

Next, it’s finally time to build our rockets and launch them. Will your rockets launch successfully? How high can they fly from Earth? Let’s find out. Remembering the “Glove Aliens” experiment, choose your vegetables and take turns placing them on the launch pad!

The wait… my heart is pounding.

Pop!!! Wow! It flew! It doesn't fly at all~~!

I keep track of my results… What vegetable should I try next? How much should I use? I keep experimenting while making predictions. What will I discover??

■ Various Predictions and Results

Each team worked together to make predictions and conduct experiments… and Professor Black Lab even learned a lot of things he didn’t know from all of you young researchers! A big round of applause for everyone!
