[Report] 49th Online Symposium: Part 1—“Aiming for a ‘School That Doesn’t Look Like a School’: The Challenge of Gifu Municipal Kusajun Junior High School”

On June 2, 2021, Learning of Tomorrow hosted an online symposium featuring Mr. Kazuhiko Mizukawa, Superintendent of Education for Gifu City.

In the first half, Mr. Mizukawa discussed the background leading up to the opening of Gifu Municipal Kusajun Junior High School—a public school for students with school refusal issues that opened this past April—as well as how it differs from typical schools, how the students have been doing since the school opened, and his expectations for Kusajun Junior High School.

In the second half, Mr. Hiroshi Inoue, principal of Kusajun Junior High School, joined the discussion, and a question-and-answer session was held with the participants.

Here's a look at the first half of the event.
