To All Members of the Press

These days,
parents are increasingly anxious due to the flood of information warning, “Don’t let your smartphone babysit your child” and “Excessive use leads to ‘smartphone brain.’” However, on the other hand, Japan’s digital education—which had lagged significantly behind the rest of the world—is beginning to make major strides, as evidenced by the fact that programming will become a required subject starting in 2020.

If we successfully integrate digital technology into “learning,” we can cultivate the creativity needed to hold our own against AI in the workplace of the future——
In this book, the author—a former visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab who has dedicated himself to promoting digital education—draws on insights into the future of education to
discuss everything from establishing an appropriate balance between children and digital devices to tools for fostering creativity and ways to incorporate digital education into the home.

In addition to tips on maintaining a healthy relationship with smartphones and how to address children’s gaming addiction, the book offers a wealth of practical information that families can implement right away—including how to use “Scratch,” a leading educational programming language,
and a variety of “Digital Ehon” books that can enhance learning.
This is a must-read for any parent facing these challenges.

We realize you are very busy, but we would greatly appreciate it if you could consider helping us publicize this book widely through your media outlets.
If your media outlets decide to feature this book, we would appreciate it if you could let us know.
