) #Workshop #Takeshiba: We held the "Choose, Trace, Dance" workshop!

Although we usually use desks and chairs in the lab, this time there’s nothing in the room. The space feels more spacious than usual. I wonder how this space will transform with the help of Mikolabo (Mr. Stow) and everyone else? To start things off, we all did some warm-up exercises by imitating Mikolabo, moving our bodies to the fullest—so we’re all set!
■Puzzles that use your body!? Sculptures!? Will there be a place to play that’s like a park!?
With friends and family members… we connected the movements each person created to make a “body puzzle”! Fighting poses, favorite poses, cute poses, shy poses… It was an exciting time for everyone watching to see what kinds of movements and shapes everyone would come up with next.After the “puzzle,” we drew lines on the floor with tape and moved along them. What do we do where the lines break? Is it a dead end? Should we jump? “You can’t go here!” “This is inside a house!” “These are train tracks!” The researchers kept coming up with new rules like these. Even though they were just lines on the floor, it turned into a fun place to play!
■At the end of our night at the park, we turned off all the lights in the lab, and when we turned them back on…
It’s just like a park at night! Everyone moves their bodies however they like, and then we all play together again. As we play, before we know it, it feels like everyone’s dancing! Through collaboration with everyone there, all sorts of movements and shapes emerged.

Chairperson, CANVASAfter graduating from the Faculty of Engineering at the University of Tokyo, he served as a visiting researcher at the MIT Media Lab before founding the NPO CANVAS and the Learning of Tomorrow Association, a General Incorporated Association, and assuming the role of representative. He serves as an outside director for Matsuya Co., Ltd., Fuji Media Holdings, Inc., and Digital Garage, Inc.
He has served on various government committees, including the Information and Communications Council of the Ministry of Internal Affairs and Communications, as well as the NHK Central Broadcasting Program Council. He also serves as a director of the Digital Signage Consortium, among other roles. He holds a Ph.D. in Policy and Media.
His publications include *Turning On Children’s Creativity!*, *What Are Smart Kids Doing on Their Smartphones?*, *The Forefront of Online Education in Japan: Considering Learning in the Post-COVID Era*,“What Is Programming Education? 45 Questions Parents Want to Know,” and “Declaration on Digital Education.” He has also provided supervision for numerous works, including “Ah, I See! Programming Education for Parents and Children Through Manga.”
