[Video Released] 45th Online Symposium: “The Fundamental Principles of a Digital Society That the GIGA School Initiative Must Not Lose Sight Of”

We have released the video of the “Learning of Tomorrow Online Symposium: ‘Fundamental Principles of a Digital Society That the GIGA School Initiative Must Not Lose Sight Of,’” which featured Mr. Hiroki Takaya of the Cabinet Secretariat’s Digital Agency Preparatory Office and the RIKEN Research Institute. While a large number of people watched the event live, we have since received requests to make the video available online (*^^*)

Mr. Takaya (former Director of the Information Education and Foreign Language Education Division, Bureau of Elementary and Secondary Education, Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology), who served as the head of the GIGA School Initiative and was a key figure in promoting ICT education.Amid rapid progress toward a digital society—including the deliberation of the Digital Reform Bill—we asked him to share his perspective on digitization from his current position, particularly regarding the GIGA School Initiative in light of the new Basic Act on the Formation of a Digital Society, and to highlight what he believes is important and what we should keep in mind at this time.

We've also published a report on this.
