On April 11, we held our “Secret Hideout at Home #Programming—Elementary School Class” event!

Use the arrow keys (←→) to move your character and go meet your friends! What happens when you meet your friends? 👭

Let's have fun programming in Scratch by trying out all kinds of actions—like making characters talk or move. 👬
So, the first- and second-year students and the third-year students were divided into breakout rooms to participate in the workshop. The first- and second-year students took it one step at a time, carefully. It’s also important to clearly communicate when you don’t understand something.
Both third-graders had experience with Scratch. They had already progressed to the point of creating dialogue exchanges. It was really wonderful to see the first- and second-graders react with surprise—exclaiming, “Wow! That’s amazing!”—when they joined the third-graders and saw their projects, and to see some first-graders confidently present their own work even in that setting. ✨

I was also happy to hear that some participants have continued working on their projects even after the workshop ended. One of the great things about online workshops is that you can keep creating right after they’re over. See you next month! The next workshop will be “Dance Dance Animation.” 💃
I wonder what we'll be doing?
